Dairy company FrieslandCampina and food multinational Mondelēz International have announced a four-year agreement aimed at reducing greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions from milk supplied by FrieslandCampina’s member dairy farmers. The goal is to achieve a 14% reduction in emissions by 2025 compared to 2019 levels. This partnership will contribute to lowering carbon emissions in the dairy supply chain and support the production of Mondelēz’s chocolate and biscuit products in Europe. FrieslandCampina aims to achieve net climate-neutral dairy production by 2050 and will work closely with Mondelēz International to reward farmers for their efforts in reducing greenhouse gas emissions. Mondelēz views dairy ingredients as crucial for their sustainability strategy and is committed to measuring, reducing, tracking, and reporting carbon emissions in collaboration with FrieslandCampina.
