The US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and The Hershey Company are jointly committing $2 million to support Pennsylvania dairy farmers. The funds will be used by the Alliance for the Chesapeake Bay, in collaboration with Land O’Lakes, to promote the adoption of environmentally friendly practices among dairy farmers in Land O’Lakes’ eastern region milk shed. The “Sustainable Dairy PA” initiative, which began in 2021, focuses on on-farm conservation efforts. The EPA and Hershey each contribute $1 million, with the Alliance for the Chesapeake Bay and Land O’Lakes using the funds to implement agricultural conservation practices on member dairy farms. This collaborative approach aims to enhance conservation, clean water, and climate initiatives while supporting farmers.
