P&G has grown to become one of the world’s top consumer goods companies. P&G signed a multiyear agreement with Microsoft to change its digital manufacturing platform in the summer of 2022. The partners claim that they will shape the future of digital manufacturing by harnessing the industrial internet of things (IIoT), digital twins, data, and artificial intelligence (AI). Proctor and Gamble (P&G) will be able to use Microsoft Azure to digitise and integrate data from more than 100 production facilities across the world, as well as improve AI, ML, and edge computing capabilities for real-time visibility. Accessing this amount of data at scale, according to P&G’s chief technology officer, Cretella, is unusual in the consumer products industry. Data and artificial intelligence have now become key to the company’s digital strategy. According to P&G’s chief human resources officer, John Cretella, the company employs artificial intelligence (AI) to assist in guaranteeing that its products are available in retail partner locations “where, when, and how consumers purchase them.” P&G’s future is about adopting AI automation, which will allow its data engineers, data scientists, and ML engineers to spend less time on manual activities.
