Nestlé, in an effort to support agrifoodtech startups and advance its sustainability initiatives, is investing in Yield Lab Latam (YLL), a venture capital firm. The investment will be made through Nestlé’s internal sustainability fund. This move follows YLL’s recent announcement of the second close of its third fund, securing over $20 million. YLL operates in four Latin American countries, investing in early-stage agrifoodtech startups and fostering innovation across the region. Nestlé’s investment aligns with its commitments to achieve net zero emissions by 2050 and halve absolute emissions by 2030. The company plans to advance regenerative agriculture by planting 20 million trees annually for the next decade and has already planted 4.1 million trees in Latin America. Nestlé aims to find sustainable solutions for the food industry through technological innovation and partnerships with startups like YLL.
