The Metaverse is nowadays acknowledged as the future of marketing and advertising. Many big brands have delved into it, including Nike, Adidas, Coca Cola, and Gucci. Nike created its own world, Nikeland, in Roblox, where participants could create avatars, play games, and interact with each other. Adidas launched its NFT drop in association with Punks Comic and Bored Ape Yacht Club, escalating the NFT craze. Coca-Cola ran an NFT campaign that offered “loot boxes,” which contained all kinds of virtual products. Gucci sold a virtual handbag on Roblox in 2021 that fetched the brand more money than its physical counterpart, showing the burgeoning importance of NFTs in the future. The thing that all of these brands have in common is their adaptability to change. Smaller companies can follow in their footsteps by gathering information about the metaverse and coming up with innovative ideas. This would be the first step in adapting to the new era.
