Accenture launched a collaboration with Mars to enhance production using artificial intelligence (AI), cloud technologies, and digital twins. Digital twins, which are virtual replicas of machines, goods, and processes, provide real-time data that aids in the prediction and optimisation of production processes and overall equipment performance. Mars is especially employing digital twins to eliminate packaging overfilling, which is a prevalent issue for both human and pet food producers. Mars and Accenture have agreed to expand the use of digital twin technology across all of Mars’ production sites. The digital twin allows operators to better monitor the filling process in real-time by sending data from production equipment into a predictive analytic tool. Mars intends to use the technology in over a dozen ways during the next three years.
