Jessica Alba talked in an interview about women in leadership positions. She claimed that there were more than 1,000 IPOs on the U.S. stock market in 2021, of which only 7 were women-led. Alba launched The Honest Company, a “clean” beauty and lifestyle brand, during COVID 19. According to her, the pandemic impacted women and minorities the most. Women are also the ones expected to be the chief caretakers of children and the elderly. Most of them can’t afford childcare, and hence are stuck in a hard place career-wise. Through her business, Alba aims to set an example for women of colour and minorities and encourage more women to be in leadership positions.
