Hostess Brands, Inc. is determined to work with its supply chain department and come up with innovative solutions to reduce packaging. The brand aims to do so by implementing new shipping methods, reusable displays at retail shops, and reducing packaging weight. The company has made significant changes across its packaging portfolio, for instance, launching 100% recyclable cardboard and folding cartons and delivering 80% of packages made of reusable material. Beyond these initiatives, Hostess is on its way to reducing its carbon footprint by eliminating tin-tie from all of its Donettes’ bags. The corporate responsibility report presents that this small step has helped the CPG company reduce 215,000 lbs of steel, 151,000 lbs of plastic, and 700 lbs of glue.
