FedEx Express is pivoting an autonomous drone to launch human-free delivery services

FedEx Express is testing a middle-mile autonomous drone in collaboration with Elroy Air to improve its efficiency, operational productivity, and safety. FedEx will test Eloy Air’s hybrid-electric vertical take-off and landing (VTOL) aircraft Chaparral. This autonomous aircraft is able to pick up 300 to 500 pounds of cargo and deliver it up to 300 miles away without human assistance.
