Nokia Turns to Metaverse to Support Remote Workers

Nokia, formerly known for consumer mobile devices, has shifted its focus to developing technology for delivering the internet and the metaverse. The company has established two labs to explore the metaverse and its technologies. Nokia is working with the University of Technology Sydney on a 5G-connected microbrewery project using metaverse technology. The project involves researchers from both the brewery tech lab in Sydney and the twin facility at Dortmund University in Germany. Nokia is seeking ways to use the metaverse to support workers in remote locations, including beer breweries and aircraft technicians in isolated airports.
