The consumer packaged goods (CPG) industry is facing increasing pressure to digitise its operations due to supply chain disruptions caused by the pandemic. Many CIOs are turning to the cloud for technology modernization and rely on their own IT teams and top executives, as well as platform specialists, to execute the transition. C&S Wholesale Grocer, a $27 billion grocery wholesale distributor, has also embraced the cloud for modernization and signed a 7-year deal with Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) to manage their digital transformation to the Google Cloud Platform. This includes advanced analytics, data lake houses, and AI-driven supply chain forecasting. Despite the high costs, the partnership and migration are considered essential for C&S to remain competitive in a rapidly changing industry.
